Mitkov Gallery celebrates its 12th anniversary in a close friendly circle at a special meeting at the prestigious Karlovy Vary spa resort.
It started in 2006 with the first exhibition of creative works by Pavel Mitkov at the Grand Hotel Pupp and over the years, although changing its locations, the gallery has permanently found its place in the life of the resort. Its regular visitors are German and Russian tourists, who are one of the most frequent guests in the city and are art connoisseurs.
Karlovy Vary is the SPA capital of the Czech Republic and is located just 2 hours from Prague, in West Bohemia. The city is known for its healing water as well as its beautiful and colorful architecture.
Karlovy Vary was founded in the 14th century by the Czech King Charles IV, who, while hunting, came across a mineral spring. Over time, its settlement grew and became famous with its healing water, and in the 19th century became a world-renowned SPA center for European aristocracy.
Many popular personalities have been inspired here - Goethe, Mozart, Beethoven, Paganini and many more. Today, the city is also popular for its cultural life, as several film festivals such as the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, one of the oldest in the world and one of the major European film festivals, take place there.
What excites the audience of the Mitkov Gallery most often are the landscapes and paintings full of life, breathing warmth, says creator Pavel Mitkov.
He also stresses that it is an honor for him to be able to present his works here, because the atmosphere of the city is extremely inspiring and whenever he is there he receives a new impetus for creativity.
